Somewhere
Thunderstorms on the eastern plains of Colorado can be brutally violent, yet incredibly beautiful. A severe storm had passed thru the Pawnee Buttes area near Greeley . I knew there would be a good chance of a rainbow becoming visible as I was positioned between the passing storm and the setting sun. This image shows the calm after the storm.
This image is also an example importance of documenting and protecting these settings for future generations. Incredible damage is being inflicted on our public lands in the pursuit of oil, gas and wind energy. This location will never look this beautiful as it is now populated with flaring gas wells and hundreds of wind turbines.
